notgoodwithadvice: I got this. | Robin Scherbatsky HIMYM 6x06 Baby Talk  I was re-watching the episode, and this episode has one of those sweet BrOTP moment that I love:   Robin: Um, when we were dating, did - did I make you feel needed?  Barney: No, I never felt like you needed me at all.  Robin: [sigh] That’s what I thought. Um, I’m sorry. Barney: Wait, where are you going? [smile] That’s a compliment! You’re the least needy woman I’ve ever banged. That’s awesome! I mean, no guy’s gonna say “Who’s your daddy?” to Robin Scherbatsky. You’re your own daddy. And mommy. And weird survivalist uncle who lives in a cabin with a shotgun blaming stuff on the government. And that is what makes you the most amazing, strong,  [smile]  independent woman I’ve ever banged. I love the whole thing/theme. Ted hates that Robin is so independent, and not needy/doesn’t need him, takes care of herself. The whole “I got this” thing. But Barney loves that Robin is so independent, and not needy/doesn’t need him that much, and can take care of herself. It’s a nice contrast. It shows which two characters are more suitable to be together. Because in the end it’s better to be with the one, who not only tolerates your little quirks, but actually likes/loves them. That’s what Robin and Barney have.

I can’t do this anymore. I can’t keep smiling, and being optimistic all the time, when all the evidence points to the contrary.
